Hello,
I'm very new to computer hw and how to assemble/build a pc. Im not an assembler and i won't be a builder either, when this project to done. I never will be, and i respect those that are by acknowledging this fact.:good:
There's a plithera of info in posts and sticky's and ill be referring to those as well. I know some basic stuff about what some of the main parts do and what they are for, and ive read up on a few tech things the last two weeks to get me where i am. Which is still nothing.
But, i'd like to try to assemble one because my 10 yr old lumbering dinosuar is leaving and i may be able to get more bang for my buck. ANYTHING, as you've already seen, would be a gargantuan upgrade.
I knowww, how embarrassing hehe.
But at least i'm here now, to seek opinions, possible guidance, to learn from other's, and circumvent the learning curve time frame that it would normally require.
I can always research if i dont understand what a reply may convey, and i'm savvy enough to learn quickly.
I have a low budget tho, so buying a white box, or sale item may be better, lets let the pro's decide. If i had to use a budget number, i would say $350.
I'd be the only user. Along with a few start-up programs and a couple more i may start manually, what i use it for is online card games, light photo processing, i may have two browsers open with several windows & tabs, emailing, may have 3 or 4 devices connected with programs open for them, along with printer, the all in 1 at the same time, etc,,I think you get the picture, that kind of amateur stuff.
I want it to keep up of course, with some reserve so it isnt overworked.
Besides what to do when it's ready to be fired up ( tests, updates, etc), picking the processor has of course been the challenge. Some appear the same but are different, and unless you know what those and other differences are, you can't make an informed decision.
No special gamimg or home theater stuff right now. May do something in the future with the HT and i think the board i picked will support it.
Thank you in advance.
Here's what my feeble brain has came up with.
