GRID Problem

This started happening not too long ago, whenever I finish a race whether its single or online, when its in the loading screen after a race, it just crashes to desktop saying it had an error and needs to close.

It's getting really annoying now, especially when playing online, anyone know what I can do?

Have you over clocked your system? Also, what power unit do you have? 550w? for example? I would also reduce the resolution you play in to approx 1280x1024 to see if that helps.
You may simply be putting too much of a strain on your system. Yes it's a good card but you won't get 60fps unless you have a few Ultras and lots of RAM on a clean system (ie no background programs running).

You can try reducing the particle effects to see if that helps but you really need to play within the capabilities of your system.
Also, alot of users experience crashes with this game, the patchs but don't seem to help much. Reduce the strain at this point may be the best solution.
 
I actually dont have anything overclocked and I have a 585W PSU.

And I really doubt the whole system stress or resolution. I first got this game a few months ago and it played perfectly fine with all settings on high while giving out smooth frames.

Like I stated, it just started happening... getting the idea that its a registry or other software issue

Save your profile then Completely reinstall the game.
 
So from the time you got the game to the time you began having problems . . . what has changed? Have you added any programs or hardware. I know this is real basic but have you gone through and checked through msconfig to minimize programs loading at startup and have your run full sweeps for malware?

My guess is that it's deciding to crash because of an overheating or memory overload issue. The tough part is figuring out which and why.
 
Well... I did a malware check and defraged HD while I was at it but its still crashing

All my other games are fine, whats wrong with this thing!? -.-'
 
i'm going to go out on a limb here, and point to memory. did you change your pagefile? maybe run memtest. if one of your sticks went bad, it might do this.
 
Well thanks for all the suggestions guys, but I finally got it to work

I installed the 1.1 patch and tadaa
I had previously installed the 1.2 patch but it would still crash o_O
 
Sorry I only just see this thread lol.

I have the exact same problem, I'm not sure if it also does it with windows 7 or not.

I get it at the end of one of the Yokohoma drift tracks and trying to start a new career in GRID, this didn't happen before I upgraded my mobo, Also tried fresh installs and fresh Windows installs.

You'll find in 1.1 there aren't barely any online races.
