Group memberships???

lol maybe its just my incrediblely bad searching skills but i cant seem to find an explanation for the group memberships thing under user control panel!!! anyone know what this is??

There are no public groups currently set up on this forum, but it is an idea that I have been considering. Basically the groups can be setup by the admin, and a leader needs to be appointed as leader of that group to approve new members. I need to do more research on this first though.

Can you explain any advantages of this to someone like me, would it kind of develop clans on the forum, wouldnt that cause conflict and posting wars.....
