Ok, I let my Missues use my computer while i was out,

I come back, and getting BSOD after BSOD.

I think all there is left too do, Is Reformat.

I have My Windows XP Pro Disk, I just don't know what too do.

Thanks In Advance.

By now, you understand what a Reformat Does?

WIPES ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING OFF YOUR COMPUTER

Back Up what you want, Before doing this, Do you have a spare hard drive?

If So, set the jumpers as Master on the New Drive, slave on the BSOD'ed Hard drive.

Reformat onto the new hard drive, boot off it, copy what you want and burn too disk.

Now, Your other problem, How too reformat.

Ok Here Goes.

Turn Your computer off.

Turn it back on

Do you know how too get too your BIO's?

If not, Tap Delete Constantly from when you turn your computer on too until it gets too bios (Some may differ, look for "** for Setup")

Go too Boot Sequence

Change Boot Order from hdd to Cd

2nd Boot = none

3rd boot = none

4th boot = none

etc . . .

Then It will reboot your computer

Watch closely

It will say

"press any key too boot from disk"

(now this is the part that you look for the "any" Key)

Push a key.

Do you know what to do too reformat?

If not.

Let windows load up all required files

At the Welcome to Setup page, press ENTER.

Press F8 to accept the Windows XP Licensing Agreement.

If an existing Windows XP installation is detected, you are prompted to repair it. To bypass the repair, press ESC. (This may not Happen)

All the existing partitions and the unpartitioned spaces are listed for each hard disk.

Use the Arrow Keys too select your current Windows Install.

Press D to delete The Windows Partition, press L

Press C on the Now "unpartitioned Space" to create a new partition

Press Enter on the Newly Created Partitioned Space After you have defined how big you want that partition

Format the partition by using the NTFS file system (Quick)

The Rest is Easy.

Good Luck

Ps. Appreciate this mate, My Fingers hurt like Hell.

Maybe this will teach you a thing or two about Girl Friends touching computers :D
(No Offense too the Females at ComputerForum.com)

Females on Computerforum.com? What, like 2? Hehe..

Maybe OP should try a Repair install on the OS before he attemps a () reformat.

Damn, K3rupt beat me too it.

I would just like too do a clean reformat.

Wow! That was a awsome how to post.

Thanks heaps K3rupt!!!

before you format... it may be possible to fix the problem. When you get the BSOD there should be an error code somethin like 0x0000000(0x1F81814,0x0000000,0x0000000,0x0000000)

Somethin like that, the first set in the parenthesis is what you need to copy down. paste it in here and i can look up what the error is for you, maybe it's something that can be easily fixed.
