GRUB issue

Hi

I am having this issue with booting Windows. I had on my pc Linux and Windows on separate partitions, then I removed Linux and immediately GRUB error 17 appeared. This error appears every time I try to boot...
I am currently using GPARTED life CD which allows me to boot from any partition I want...

How could I somehow repair the GRUB so it recognizes partitions and automatically boots.

Thank you in advance

The reason you are getting the GRUB error is because you removed Linux. GRUB is a Linux file, so it was removed along with it.

You will need to fix your Windows MBR in order for the issue to be solved. Take your WinXP Setup CD and boot to it via BIOS. Once everything from the CD loads, you need to press R to access the Recovery utility. On the next screen, enter your choice (usually 1) and press Enter. At the command prompt, just type fixmbr, and you should be good to go:)
