well its about time a thread was thrown out there!
in a few months (before christmas) i will be purchasing a high end gpu to replace my hd4890.
i am leaning towards the hd5870 due to the fact of the dx11 and i have windows7 pre-ordered.
the money i get of my hd4890 i will put towards a nice samsung ssd to run windows7 on...
i am sure the gtx295 will out perform the hd5870 but some reviews say taht when new drivers come out for the hd5870 it will become close competition to the gtx295.
there are a few positives to the ati but a few negatives, no physix being one of them and ive always found heat issues (having to increse fan speed=noisey) while overclocking the ati cards meaning i am going to have to throw an extra £100 for a decent water block to keep it cool!
so to round it off
Asus GeForce gtx295 dx10 £360

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 5870 dx11 £300

+ water block, judging by the prices of the waterblocks for the hd4890 im guessing £100-£120
