I havent seen any GTA5 threads here, and I for one am dying for them to release the effing game already! As they said its pretty much finished yet they wont release any information about it!

As most probably know, the first official trailer of the game was released in early November 2011 and then that was the last we heard from Rockstar about the game. Over half a year later and still no word, but Rockstar has been kind enough to give us some screenshots a few weeks ago:

I think GTA 5 could possibly one of the most anticipated game of this year (and next year, as it appears it wont be released this year either) so I think it deserves its own thread.

Also, judging from the screenshots they have not made any major changes to the graphics. I dont think they have stated any information about the engine they are using, there was a rumor that it was Unreal 4 but from those screens I doubt it. Looks like RAGE to me, but hopefully we get the same high resolution textures we saw with GTA 4 on PC along with maybe DX11 features? Some tessellation please Rockstar? And a better lighting system?
 
Could've just bumped the thread, but whatever.

I hope its more like Vice City and San Andreas. I like realism, but GTA isn't the place for it. I don't mean graphics wise, but VC and SA's cars were so much easier to handle and I just like the overall feel of it.

I'm saying this while literally downloading GTA IV... Damn you, steam sale...

Im the complete opposite. I was glad they implemented more realism into the game, ESPECIALLY the driving. I love driving in GTA 4. And everyone claims its so unrealistic, but as a former street racer I can say its pretty accurate handling for most all of those cars.
 
There is very less chance this year, no development news nothing. I hope GTA V comes out before Q2 next year.
I am looking forward to this and Crysis 3.

It looks like most of the games are coming out in February of next year, so maybe we can expect it by then? If not, it better be the best game in the world.

But its rare to see a game trailer in Nov 2011 and then the game Feb 2013 :p Rockstar sucks
 
Those screenshots look to me like a PC release. The console version's graphic for GTA 4 was rather poor compared to PC. I was running GTA 4 on my old PC with a 9600gt ar 1280x1024 and it honestly looked better than my friend's xbox version.

Hmm, I think the screens are just carefully adapted console shots. Notice how everything looks great up to and including the water in the second shot, but past the middle area of the water, the detail drops off drastically.

I dont think so.... I bet its still on the PC being constructed. Look at the first screen though, even with an LOD theres no way a console could have that kind of draw distance with those lights and cars down there.
 
Rockstar posted 3 new screenshots a few hours ago. More to come this week. Yay! :D

I'm just hoping for a really good physics engine. Why? So I can jump out of a helicopter and smash into a light pole with extreme precision and realism.
 
Bit dissapointed with this graphically tbh. I really think they need to draft boris in or even iceleglace. Then again they deal with colours not textures etc.
 
I hope there is a nice airport for flyable planes and jets and a good military area to attack and practice aaand looking forward to the new screenshots coming this week.
 
I hope that it's less of a real life simulator (ie GTA 4) and has more crazy stupid fun like previous games. I think the graphic is great. A good move away from GTA 4 moody color scheme. Only hoping that my GTX 560 can run it :X
 
I think the real question here is:

DX11 features?

Answer is probably not since it is after all a console game. But Rockstar did very well for PC gamers with 4 despite optimization problems and hundreds of stability issues.
