What software should I download to overclock my ECS 512mb gts 250?

Msi afterburner, also has a good fps monitor that can also tell you your cpu and gpu % usage

Do not agree at all. Don't use afterburner. Use Trixx, it is a much better program.

for monitoring, use HWiNFO64 and Rivatuner display monitor. Fraps also does the job quite well.

But I don't think Trixx supports nvidia graphics cards

appears you are right. In that case, there is not really a good one out there for Nvidia. Try the gigabyte OC utility though. Seems to do better with voltage than EVGA or MSI tools.

I guess I'll use the gigabyte OC utility since I have already used it in the past with my gt 520...

What's wrong with afterburner? I have been using it for a while now. The only thing that I can complain about is how it asks me to update when a new version comes out.

Actually, I don't know... I think I'll try both the gigabyte software and afterburner and see which one I like better... ...as soon as I figure out how to fix my win 8 problem...

I have had no problem with Afterburner, on my gtx 580, my AMD 6850, or my little gt 530. The in-game monitor is good and the ability to record is useful.
