i was doing some research and came across this good piece of information. according to "xtremesystems" and there benchmarks than ran,an OC'ed gts450 beats a 5770 in 99% of the time. a stock gts450 stays with in 5-10 fps agianst a 5770 and in a few it pulls ahead.oh almost forgot here- http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=4532422&postcount=39 ,enjoy.

Meets and beats a 5770 is alitle misleading. You can overclock an 5770 too. Comparing stock clocks (not overclocked) its overall pretty close to a 5750.

At stock, the 450 is somewhere between the 5750 and 5770.

I suppose we wait for the GTS/GTX 455

For a single card, between the 450 and 5750, I would get the 450. But the 5770 is faster as a single card. As far as SLI vs. C/F, the 450 slugs it out with the 5770.

even without an OC'ed gts450 the stocked one came within 5-10fps and in some beat it.how is that misleading?

If the 5770 is 30fps and the 450 is 20 they are within 10 but they would not be close. Such as with the Crysis benchmark.

The gts450 is a head scratcher. Not much of a reason to buy it.

Come on. You could say the 450 kinda meets and kinda beats the 5750.

If thats the case you could say the 5750 meets and beats the 5770. You can overclock a 5750 to occasionally beat a 5770. Or a 5830 vs. 5850. Or a 460 vs. a 470. I could go on and on.

I wonder how the GTX 450 Folds?

A GF106 with 192 processing cores, some models have shader clocks up around 1700MHz...this card has serious potential to be a great Folder for a little over $100:eek:

I am gonna have to look this one up.

****EDIT****

Did some looking around...most people are getting 7,500 to 9,000 PPD with this card. That is great considering it is only 1 x 6 pin power connector, good performance for a good price.

The 5770 and GTS 450 are great value for money, but the 5770 is better. I liked mine, but I like my GTX 460 more

I agree that the 460 1gb does offer a good value. Heck, I see the XFX 5850 new is $239 on the egg now because of the 460.

5770 > GTS450.
