Hi Guys

For those of us that own gtx titans or many in sli configuration are yous getting worried about the new release of the AMD R9 290X, that titan will loose it price and drop by a few hundred also with amd claiming it been faster in ever possible game?

what YOUR THOUGHTS?

Im more of a nvida person and even though i currently have an AMD Card,I believe that Nvida will top AMD some way and some how.

A great man once said "There's a will there's a way."

HA-HA, wise words, thought Ill be kicking myself if the claims that amd are making are through, that it beats titans in all benchmarks, after me buying 3 GTX TITANS:mad:

there will always be faster cards in the next generation for even less money, to think the best of one generation will stay on top for more than like 8 months is just asinine really

Pretty much this. OP, you probably would have saved about $1000 or more and of gotten better performance if you had waited, but no one can predict the future.

Its always a game of leapfrog, no real use to worrying about oh god the next tech is coming out, ill lose a frame or two.

Technology moves on. You've just got to buy what is best for you at the time. These things move on so quickly there is really little point worrying about worrying whether other hardware will come out which is faster, because the answer is always 'yes, eventually.'

Well thanks guys for the post, I suppose I just gotta deal with the thought of cheaper cards coming out that could very well be faster, ha after we spending 3k on gpus

what are other titan owners feeling?

I've got a 5870 which was the fastest card in the world in 2009. About a year later, it was beaten (just) by the 6870 which was a mid-range card (it was worth about half of what the 5870 was worth when it was new). Then, just under three years on from the 5870's launch date, it gets beaten by 7850 which again is a very mid-range card.

So, things move on.

that's very through alright, things sure do

Though 3 titans will be a powerful setup for the next few years. Anybody who has 3 GTX 280s can play BF4 on max, and those are 5 year old cards. That iirc was worse then the titan if a titan had been around then.

Why would you worry about the Titan going down in price. If it is cheaper, buy more for SLI :P No reason to sell everything and move to the R9 290x for a few extra frames.

Although if it is like 800, i wouldnt doubt you could still sell the titan for that much and upgrade, some people are nvidia loyalists and dont give a....about what amd has out
