Gtx

I have 2.66ghz intel dual core, 2gb ram(upping to 4) vista ultimate 32bit, 500gb hd, 512mb saphire redeon x1600pro (or similar). Would it be worth getting a gtx graphics card. I play games, internet browsing, make games and various wierd demanding things. I don't work and only get to spend that kind of money once a year and don't know if I should upgrade graphics or something else. Can someone tell me where I will find the differences in graphics? Thanks

The 8800gts 512mb or the 8800gt 512mb would be a better choice, both match the GTX in performance but are less expensive. You might ask how a GT and GTS of the same numerical designation could match the "higher-caste" GTX, and the answer would be that Nvidia, impassive towards the spreading of confusion, decided to market their newer, superior G92 chips with a non-accordant denomination.

Any of the above cards will help in games, the designing of games, etc. Anything in that the rendering of "graphics" would be fundamental to operation, basic web browsing and PC use not included.

True, but you cannot tri-sli the GT, or the GTS. :P

This guy obviously is not interested in SLIing anything, not even to mention triple SLIing. He said he doesn't work(I am assuming you're young) and cannot spend too much money. If you need to upgrade your card don't get a GTX, it will run you like $350. get a 8800 GT or GTS like hermeslyre suggestion.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting that type of setup. It was another one of my bad jokes. The smiley at the end of my post should've tipped everyone to that, but, it didn't, as usual. :(

I won't be using sli on this computer. Just need one card that can provide good performance for what I need. The hd thing looks good but I don't know much about it. It's within my budget though, well, I suppose my budget is flexible(and I don't have a real income).

Few other members have that card, and say it great.

I was going to get it, but the store had the 8800GT and I wanted that more.

I know, I wasn't trying to make you look bad.
