I need a new graphics card and I find the 1070 quite appealing, and im on a budget. Should I get the 1080 and pay more or just get the 1070, Can you guys also include a good 1070/1080?

Exactly, they're not for budget users but when it comes to GPUs I always get the best I can afford because the difference between generations is much bigger than the difference between generations when it comes to CPUs. So I'd go for the 1080.

Budget and 1080 ..hmm..no..

But if you want to spend the dough, the 1080 does not disappoint. I own an MSI Gaming GTX1080 its amazing.

Well to be fair he didn´t say what kind of budget it was. Maybe it was a $2000 budget... :p

There is a missing object that got lost in the internet there:

"GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 on a $2000 budget"

There you go, fixed.

1080ti or GTFO.

(joking)

seriously it comes down to how fat your pockets are and what res you play at. If you play at 1080P a 1060 or 480 is fine. For 1440P, 1070. For 4K 1080Ti.

I just picked up my 1050 Ti and I can't believe how it performs for 1080P, amazing. But 1080P will be the 800 X 600 sooner then later.

Considering 1920x1080 is around 4.32x larger, that's roughly the same jump to 4k from 1080 :p

So I guess that would be sooner rather than later :p
Yeah, I meant in terms of how GPU tech is going, I can't believe how this card is performing with everything I've thrown at it maxed out, and it doesn't make a sound, my 580 sounded like a jet taking off lol.

You are using a 60Hz monitor right?

I could not believe how Doom and many other games struggled with the 580, with this card everything at 1080P @ 60hz is running nicely and with no fan noise.

Yes upgrading GPU must the best. Closely followe by purchasing an SSD and in the third place replacing the FX stock cooler, that thing is a nightmare :p

Oh for sure man. 1080P is "no sweat" for even entry level decent desktop GPUs now, especially if you can live without things like motion blur, AA, and AF. Enjoy your card :)

I had a 580, then I got a 980, then a 1080. The 1080 is just so spectacular. I play on a 1440P Gsync 144Hz Dell monitor and this is the most fantastic gaming experience I've ever had on PC. I wish I could get as excited about it as I did with my first ever 3D card when I was 14. Getting older sucks sometimes. I'm 33 now.

I hear that, I don't have the budget for a better monitor as I have 3 growing boys, my oldest will be 10 in 20 days FFS, they don't stop eating but I love them. I'll be 33 in a couple of months to, where TF does the time go? But for the time being I'm very impressed with this card.

Your time, in this case, went to that 1050ti :p

Out of the two I'd most definitely recommend a GTX 1070 if you're just doing 1920x1080... I have and RX 470 and the jump to a GTX 1060 wouldn't be favorable, so scratch it off the list :p
