If im not mistaken the GTX275 is faster/on par(55nm so overclocks well) with a gtx280 but slower than a gtx285.

It has a higher fill rate, but that's it. Not to say the 275 doesn't bench higher, idk.

I still think it's a great price for the GTX280 
from $500+ to this

The GTX295 really throws the GTX285 a beaten eh?
The GTX 295 is essentially two GTX 275s paired together on a dual PCB, so, yes, it will perform better than one 285.
