gtx280 vs gtx 285

what are your thoughts the gtx 285, is it worthwhile to get that instead of the gtx 280... the SSC version of the 280 is about $354 on Newegg vs $430 for the 285. But the normal 285 cards are just slightly more expensive than the 280's

It based on 55nm technology, so heat and power consumption will be lower.

plus you get about 10+- frames more....

id say its worth it, especially if you want to go SLI

See, i like to play all my games at full. So i like to get the best, regardless of resolution.

So I would go for the GTX285, simply cause it bettwer in everyway (granted, for you americans it might not be worth it, but here in South Africa, a GTX285 is cheaper than a GTX280...I know...)

And i want to keep my cards as long as possible.

Once you get to a certain FPS, a GPU upgrade will be unoticable. So the resolution is totally relevent here.

yes, but if he doesnt upgrade for a long time (like me) later on with newer games, he can still play them, at the resolution he wants...
