GTX280 vs HD6850

My friend is going to give me his two GTX 280 graphics cards when he buys a 590, My motherboard can only have one graphics card.
Would one GTX 280 be better than a HD6850?
 
6850 is superior in all aspects except for:

Shader clock(gtx 280=1296mhz, hd6850=775mhz)
Memory bandwidth(gtx280=141.696 gb/sec, hd6850=128gb/sec)
Texture fill rate(gtx280=48160 MTexels/sec, hd6850=37200 MTexels/sec)
Memory bus type(gtx280=64x8 - 512-bit, hd6850=64x4 - 256-bit)
Process(gtx280=65nm, hd6850=40nm)
Texture units(gtx280=80, hd6850=48)
 
Yeah he's spewing all kinds of nonsense out.

6850 is superior to the gtx280 in many areas, it's a no brainer.
 
If nothing else, i'd get the 6850 because of dx11 support, something you need for most of the newer games. Games just don't look as good as they can in dx10. The power consumption is also a good reason to consider it over the gtx280 as well, and I can personally attest to how smoothly and reliably it runs. Up to date technology is nice as well, but if you do end up getting the 6850 i'd go for the Asus or Gigabyte if you want nice overclock options, or the Sapphire if you want to save some cash as from what I can tell it is the least expensive at the moment on newegg. Also make sure to measure your case against the measurements of the card to see if it will fit,(you can find the measurements of the card online) and find out if your power supply will be sufficient enough to run this card. You can find out approximately how many watts you'll need for everything you plan on using with this psu wattage calculator.

it sounds like he's asking if the 280 would be better than a 6850 he has to me, but if you don't already have it i'd take the 280 for free or cheap any day over paying 150 for the 6850
