Guitar Hero III PROBLEM HELP!!!

I recently purchased GH3 for the PC; I have a Dell XPS M1710 notebook and for some reason the gameplay is very choppy. I've tried adjusting settings in the game but no matter what I do the game play is still choppy and laggy. Compared to the x-box 360 or even PS2 it's terrible. Someone please help!

The game is a bad direct port from the 360 version which means it was not optimized for PC. The requirements are pretty high and a laptop might not be able to handle it. I know we tried to play it on my brother fairly nice laptop and it lagged even on the lowest settings.

ya, theres not much you can do. i play with the lowest settings and lowest resolution on my laptop and still lags every once in a while. it can get annoying when your playing a new version of a song :(

my desktop on the other hand plays it more consistently even at my max resolution at low settings. can still lag a bit tho.

Dont even bother if your trying to run it on a laptop, we tried on my sisters brand new Compaq and it was playable on low settings until a fast part of the song where a lot of notes would come down, it would lag badly. Try turning off the audience, but thats about it. It runs perfect on my desktop.

Well the laptop I'm running has the best graphics card available combined with the fastest speed as well (xps notebooks are supposedly the "top of the line" for gaming especially the m1710). I've noticed that If I repeat the same songs they get better. I played it today and it wasn't as bad but kind of disapointing overall.
