Mabye we should get an Admin to do a check on this website there like copying us wich isn't right.
 
anybody have any more examples? They are clearly copying content from here.
 
well, im always here to help out my good buddies at computer forum:D

it looks like this "techman" on the other forums is the culprit.... i searched all his posts and they are "mostly" all copy and pasted from here

for example:

just search all of his posts and type keywords from the techarena post into the search bar of CP.... you will almost certainly find a copy

on the plus side however, i do like his sig on the other site..... as follows:
"you know you've made it big on here when you have your own imposter":D

My guess is that someone set up some bots to copy some posts from here. I would assume that they would do this to make the forum look like it has lots of posts and threads and is very popular to attract new members. Possibly the entire site was set up to profit from the advertisements.
 
I know exactly what this is actually because i've seen it before.


There are services out there that do paid message board posting. You pay these people and they start posting to your forums, just to sort of generate activity..

Since forums are about all sorts of things, these people cannot possibly be able to make relevant posts to every forum. So one thing they do is look for similarly themed forums and just mirror certain posts. I'm almost certain that that's whats going on here.. The guy at the other forum probably bought some paid posting.. If anything the OTHER webmaster should be sort of pissed for getting plagiarized material..
 
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this a type of plagiarism? It might not be a source, but this is a forum, a web-hosted community. This has to be illegal on some aspect.

Like a LOT of stuff, this is just one of those things that, yes, is illegal, but do you really wanna hire a lawyer and attempt some sort of action against it? Wouldn't be worth it..
