Hacked email

Ok, i was helping my uncle on the computer, he has recently broken up with his partner however she was a real computer nerd. She had said a few things to him which made him think she was hacking his email account, so we changed the password and made a fake website and put a statcounter on it. We checked it for a few days and then there was a hit, (we were using the statcounter service) the referring link was from the email service online and the IP that had looked at the site matched her IP address. We now know she is hacking his account, but how? We changed the password and have AVG. How is she in the computer? Any ideas?

Cheers
David

Question you said it matched her IP Address how would you know her IP Address? Also change the recovery questions and the password. When she does "hack" you what is she doing?

We know her ip address because i have google mail and she used to send me emails so i looked at the x-originating ip address. I have changed the recovery questions and password many times, when she gets on she goes through emails from the bank and other private emails. I am really worried she has access to the whole computer.

Ok another question if she is just reading his emails then how would you know she hacked his account if all she is doing is reading then how would you know? Just because she said she hacked your email doesn't mean she did.

There are hacking tutorials on the web....

True but changing the recovery questions and passwords is what you can do when your email is hacked. Besides running your system for malware. Note that just because you read it on the web doesn't make it true.

I believe there are programs that allow people to hack into simple passwords (by trying different combinations). Try a long complex password, with capital letters, symbols, etc. See if that works. It will be harder to hack.
