So, this is a pretty urgent and important question.
Last year, (1 1/2 months ago) my friend and I created a fake Facebook profile to message a girl from school that I really like. Upon checking her unprotected Facebook page I saw that a young man had commented on her pictures and statuses, so - don't ask me why - but through my fake profile I felt empowered to message him as well. I told him to stay away from her or else I'll take him down.
Turns out, in school that I know this kid and he comes to the same event I go to. One and a half weeks ago he briefly mentioned it, out of nowhere that this girl, who is his friend, had a stalker and that that kid had sent him death threats. Of course I knew he was talking about me. He said the had reported them to ... I don't know? The campus police, facebook. No idea. But it turned out that the profile was fake. So that's what he said.
I listened and I knew it was about me, but of course I didn't say anything. Also wasn't aware that I had sent death threats.
I took the profile down after that incident, but he had blocked it already anyway, so he couldn't see it anymore.
Now, it's important to come to the next part:
A week later, he was acting all weird. I tutor a class as well, and he's in that class. He submitted his homework and added all kinds of extra things to the assignment, such as "No one died." or "His feet aren't hooves" or "He didn't let a pirate in". On top of that he was acting all weird, didn't show up to class and didn't respond. I know from others that he suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder and that he's bipolar, so I tried not to panic. Easier said than done.
What I'm thinking is: the police wouldn't have been involved. They wouldn't have dealt with a minor thing like this, also, they would have come to my house with a warrant or something.
So my idea is that he hacked my computer or anything. And I have no idea how this works or how he could have found out.
Nothing on that fake profile was real.. email, photos.. nothing.
How did he figure this out? Did he hire someone? He never physically had my computer in his hands, he had blocked my Facebook account, so he couldn't see it. And how on Earth does he know it's me? My friends were like: don't worry, he's just having his period, because he's bipolar. But I think that would be too big of a coincidence.
I'd be really glad if some experts could tell me how it's possible to obtain infortmation on the REAL person behind a fake Facebook profile when the email isn't real, when the photos aren't real, and when the account is disabled and technically invisible to the person who blocked the profile? I'm at a loss. My friend from the police said it was super unlikely and difficult to do that without having the computer in your hands. And even then. It's unlikely.
I hope someone can help me with this.
