HAF X or Silverstone FT02?

Both cool very well. I think the HAF X cools graphics cards better while the FT02 cools CPUs better.

FT02 is a mid
HAF X is a full

While I don't think the FT02 would stop me from doing anything (Most I would do is SLi my 570), the extra space from a full tower is very nice.

Looks wise? I don't care about that.

My MAIN concern is air cooling. I want my current setup (plus the SLi 570s) to run as cool as possible on air.

I am 95% positive I am going to upgrade every fan on either case anyway.

I also need a larger PSU. Don't think the 720w is gonna be able to handle SLi and all the larger fans (in addition to what's existing of course!).

I leave anything out? Which case do you guys think I should go with?

With Silverstone. I would probably go with one of the Ravan cases over the FT02. Like the RV02-BW/RV02B-EW or maybe the RV01-BW for alittle more.

I have the HAF X, i friking love it, it is one of the best (if not the best) air cooling cases out there, one thing that you need to be aware of however, is that two top slots for 200mm fans (one is occupied) don't fit regular fans without some case modding, so you might need to leave those

What kind of case modding? Are there any specs on CFM from the stock fans? Newegg doesn't sell a crazy high-powered 230mm fan.

How was installing everything and running the wires? That's the biggest thing I am looking to change when swapping cases. My wire setup right now is AWFUL in the Kandalf (mostly my fault). I also don't have many fans setup because this is a water cooling case. So I am really hoping for like 5C temp drops all around.

I really like the RV02. The plastic bothers me a bit... not sure why though. I know it's going to be a stable case. Plus my computer is away from people so I am not worried about people crashing into it. The fact that it's a mid-tower really puts me off. But I can't think of a solid reason why I want a full sized tower other than the fact that I just want one. To me, it just seems like it'll keep everything cooler, naturally. I can route the wires better, create more space between everything. I might be totally wrong because I don't have too much of an idea as to what i'm talking about. hahahaha

Be wary of "mid-size" and "full tower" descriptions. They're just marketing. You gotta look at the dimensions to compare them. My storm sniper is a mid tower, and its 10" wide.

Wow!

23.20" x 9.10" x 21.70" for the HAF X

24.25" x 8.35" x 19.57" for the FT02

Is it safe to say that the dimensions are close enough to not even matter?

Just throw it on the pile of more crap to worry about before buying!

The FT02 seems to cool better? Am I seeing that on reviews?

Depends on your needs. I got mine because I wanted side fans and room to mount my 212+, which is pretty huge. Got like, 3cm between my 200mm fan and the 212+

Yea, I have the Thermaltake Frio which is gigantic (Crazy airflow though!). So does that help anyone decide which case to get? :-)

Do you have the one with a 120mm or 130mm fans? The 120mm is about 16.5 cm tall and the 130mm is about 15.8cm tall. I think either case would be wide enough for it. I cannot comment on how good the airflow it. Kind of depends on how you set up your fans and what fans you get. (If you add aftermarket ones.)

Almost positive they are the 120mm fans.

And I plan on getting all 4 fans upgraded. I already have this one in my current case. Just going to move it over!

Plan on getting 3 of these.

I think whichever one you choose will have good airflow, maybe a difference of a few degrees, nothing to worry about. I'd choose the silverstone too, just because of the cooler factor.

Have you ever thought about just getting a good normal case that looks cool and has decent airflow, then making a custom water loop for them and the cpu and overclock it to hell and back?

Also found this, Thor v2 is actually supposedly great, not too bad looking either i don't think

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

According to that review, the Thor V2 is BETTER than the FT02? What the hell?!

Claptonman, why wouldn't you get the FT02 then?

I was saying you could just get whatever case you like, then water cool the graphics cards and processor, you know, liquid cooling, pump, radiator, liquid, super low temps with super high speeds, one member did that and right now is sitting with 3 GTC 580's stable at 955mhz each and i think a 2600k at 5ghz.

As for the thor v2, i think its front side and top 230mm fans pointed at the gpus might be the reason for the low temps, and plus it looks nice and is half the price of those, and still has good cable management.
