Half of my desktop icon's are gone

Hi,
I have Windows Vista and 4 days ago a new update of Silverlight,
There was an issue to install it and i removed it not correctly, i delted the File in C and deleted registry. Now this is back installed but since then half of my icons are white or have some ugly default screen.

Someone who knows what could be wrong / can help me?

Try doing a system restore back to before the Silverlight update.

Start>Accessories>System Stools>System Restore
 
yeah but i can't find any date be4 the update since it only makes a recovery date when updates, i use Windows Vista Home Basic, or is there other way to find recovery dates?

Then do the date of the update, as the restore is made before the update is installed.
 
Tried that be4 it didn't work but i made some new shortcuts already with the good icon's but not all of them are ok but i ma try tonight gtg work now.
