Just kidding, Halo was made what? 6 years ago, the technology is getting old and doesnt work right with the new drivers out. Especially the older mx440 and mx4000. Get a new card and you can play again (slim chance, but hey...)Ive found halo works in vista better then xp just for your info.

that can happen if you mod it or install mods someone else made... try a different level/map
KOBAJ - MX440 is what its running. I have another computer, an 1.3GHz (OC'd to 1.43GHz) with an MX400 32MB and it runs absolutely fine. Actually, better than that. No lags whatsoever (Even though its on wireless). Should I install "Nvidia" Drivers? Not Microsoft drivers included in installation?
RBXSLVR- I have the Demo version of the game. I have done no mods to it. I will never mod it anyways. Always the chance of infection from spyware/viruses.

Umm... no... it doesnt pop up like Avast does and says you need a new version or update or something so I have no idea. Whre can I get this ?

YES!!! As a general rule, don't install Microsoft drivers for your devices, they seem to screw with stuff a lot... Especially video cards (at least the nVidia cards that I've had...). Just dig around a bit either on nVidia's site or www.guru3d.com for some suitable drivers...

Browse to the Microsoft Games folder, then the Halo folder, and open up the Halo Update utility.OMEGA -
But you need nVidia drivers!! You cant use the Microsoft ones!

No! Microsoft uses a standard vga.dll driver, which works with basically any video card. It allows you to view the screen and perform basic 2D/3D functions. You NEED to get the drivers for nVidia if you want to game.

Same here. In XP, it constantly lagged, and I had to have the settings a bit lower. In Vista, I have everything maxed out, and while I don't know the true framerate (fraps is stuck in Vsync mode or something with that game) but if it rarely goes under 60 when running on Vista, that's a good thing.

Don't take my word for it, but I believe that if a driver is already installed, nVidia installer detects it and uninstalls it as part of the process.

Some of yall have read my "overclocking s3 unichrome" thread. I overclocked the CPU (maybe video card??) with an bundled overclocking sfotware. Got it from 1.5GHz to 1.9Ghz. alot less lags in Underground 2. Seems to me that the unichrome graphics in that computer is great! It is the CPU that is the bottle neck. Question: it can play underground 2 with settings increased with rarely ANY lags, but cannot play halo!?!!? It will load and stuff but when it gets to the main screen it starts to... resize and stuff, like half page, then full page, half, full, when i try to play it it des the same thing. otherthan that the graphics on haloa re great.

Yo dude is your thread still open because i want to overclock my S3 because the gaem NFSU2 or 1 doesn't show any writting and the gaem HALO resizes then i tried running it in safe mode, and I can't view anything such as writting and if i guess the buttons and start the game then everything is colored wrong with bad graphics...
anyone know where you can get the mac version of the first halo? Macsoft and apple are not selling it anymore and it wasnt on amazon or ebay either. After trying and failing to get it legally, i tried some other ways and all of those ended up requiring a boot code.
Can anyone find somewhere to buy it ?

I wouldn't even try. There's the DEMO version... and theres only around 13 servers...

Soo... no your GFX probably does not have Transform & Lightning to play the game.
