Hard Disk Choice

Hi all,

I am putting a parts list together for a new PC build (my first) and I'm investigating hard drives at the moment. I was leaning towards the Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA 3.0GB, but when I went to Newegg I discovered mixed reviews. Some people loved it, but others had real problems with the drive, like dead on arrival and croaked after a while. I'm in quandry now. In the communities expert opinion, is this a good choice for a hard drive? Thank you very much!

Yes, that is the exact drive that I was considering. Unless someone else chimes in with some vehement reason why not to get this drive then I am going to go ahead as planned and purchase two of them. Thank you very much!
 
NP , your welcome and like I said I've had mine for about four months now and no problems whatsoever. Good choice .
 
Id put $20 more towards that 640GB Hard Disk Drive by Western Digital, it has 320GB platters and I heard its really quick. (Faster than the Raptor I believe)
