My Motherboard BIOS always show this: Sec Master Hard Disk S.M.A.R.T. Status Bad, Backup and Replace..Then I need to press F1 to resume...Is the hard disk is damaged...But my files are safe and working properly...

It might not be dead but it may be failing therefore I would do what it says and run your manufacturers hard drive test and backup just in case.

That indicates the hard drive is starting to fail. You should backup any important data you need and replace the drive.

Once you have done this... and run the OEM HDD test, if there is one, try doing a Low Level Format of the hard drive, a normal format just wipes it, but a low level will destroy it and rebuild it, you need special software for it, freeware or trialware that is fully functional can be found on Google. It works deeper than a normal format

If the hard drive if failing then wiping the hard drive will not help it. Also running the manufacturers HDD Test tailored to the specific make and model would be better than an oem HDD Test.

I know but if its a glitch, it should kill it, if it is a proper fail, then it wont....

dban just overwrites every sector on the harddrive. Low level format is the building of the drive's geometry.

Manufacturer diagnostics also have built in low level formatting tools one can use.

If the magnetic layer of the hard drive got disrupted then the format MAY repair this, it is iffy though.

If it is that the areas of the hard drive have seen a lot of use from certain areas being used a lot of times then the hard drive platters are basically burned out and there is no fixing that kind of damage. Also if there has been a head crash or even small amounts of dust got between the platter and the read/write head the hard drive is not fixable. And if you dropped your computer or jolted it hard, then you may have damaged the hard drive whether the computer was on or not.

I'm totally with voyagerfan99. Its just better to replace the drive. Why take a chance on something like this when they are so cheap?
