Asus laptop, 2 years old. Daughter spilled Crystal Light on keyboard, 1 oz. laptop shut down > I took it and removed keyboard and back panel. No moisture found. I let it dry out for 4 days then tried it, nothing. My tech guy wants $80 just to look at it. Probably buy a new one as this was 2 years old running Windows 7.
Although she used a portable plug in hard drive as backup there were things she would like to have off that laptop that got fried.(pictures) If hard drive didn't get zapped how would I be able to get any info off of it to move to a new machine? If I remove hard drive where do I go from there?

I bought the adapter mentioned above. The hard drive was able to be read and was not damaged by the flood. I have it out of the Asus laptop. When I access the HD using my new device I find Partitions (H) Data 238gb free of 254 and partition OS (G) 13.7 Gb free of 186. I have located my pictures. in the data part. How do I now put these pictures on the new computer I purchased.(Toshiba laptop) I would like to get them into Picasa. Also where do I look for my documents? Other than those 2 things I don't think there is much else I want from the HD. Do i just plug in the old HD into my new laptop using the device I bought then access the files I want to transfer?
Later can I use the old HD as a storage device for backing up files? What should I remove from it? By the way the Hd is a Seagate 500 GB Momentus 5400.6

Just copy them from the ASUS drive to your new machine.

Your documents should be located on c:\Users\*USERNAME\Documents
