Hard drive CHKDSK.

I have finished running chkdsk (check, repair, and attempt to fix) on my compaq sr2037x (Win XP)and hp laptop dv9920 (Win Vista). I have viewed the chkdsk results in the most recent winlogon. I have no idea what it's telling me, so is there a way for the novice to determine the disk condition from this report?

What brand of hard drive is it?

A Seagate 40gb in the compaq. The hp laptop has the original hd that came in it a few years ago.

You can run seatools on the Seagate drive. Would need to know what brand the other is before recommending a program to use.

Is seatools a download that I can get from seagate. According to laptop device manager, it's a WD2500bevs (250gb western digital???)

Western Digital for some reason removed the iso download to create a cd so you will have to use the windows version.
