Hard drive connection?

Perhaps a stupid question, but i'm kind of stuck. I'm trying to figure out what you use to connect the hd to the mobo or case but I hit a wall. I ordered a bare drive, which only came with brief instructions and two screws. I have a red and black sata cable that came with the optical drive(so I assume I can't use it for anything else), and there is also a red/black sata cable that appears to be part of the case itself, so there's only one side of it that's available to use. There are also three other cables, they are all black and one of them is all black with a white tipped head. I've read the setup guide at this site, but am still a bit lost. Can anyone advise?

Does it say on the cables what Sata they are. The white tip may be Sata 6. They are backwards compatible. My Asus came w/Sata 6 cables. I think for an ssd you may want 6. I don't think a hdd will benifit, but if it's 6 then perhaps best for compatiblity.

The SATA cable on the case is probably for a case SATA/eSATA case connection.

Like said its pretty much visual awareness there.

A SATA cable will not plug into a IDE port. A IDE cable will not plug into a SATA port.

A SATA power connector will not plug into a Molex power connector. A molex connector will not plug into a SATA power connector.

Looks like everything is in, only thing I didn't hook up was a little 4 pin cable that said "speaker". It has a cylinder shaped object attached to the other side, couldn't find a spot for it in the manual anywhere, does anyone know what it is?
