Hard drive data recovery

I recently bought a new hard drive, since my old one is acting weirdly, and tried to move everything in my old hard drive. However, some of the files couldn't be moved because they couldn't be read from source file or disk. Also, sometimes, my hard drive had a cyclic redundancy error. Could this be fixed with a data recovery program, or do I have to do something else?

Edit: the old hard drive (NTFS file system) also sometimes asks for reformatting

Another problem has appeared...it doesn't ask for reformatting anymore, but when I move files from the old hard drive, it stops abruptly and I have to disconnect it to start it again. It's really frustrating and I really need help!

Sounds like your drive is really heading south on you. I wouldn't copy any more data over until you can try running the hard drive makers disk diagnostic software on the drive to see if you can get it to run stable. What brand of hard drive do you have?

Your old hard drive is corrupted so that it prompts for formatting and cyclic redundancy error, may be it has some bad sectors too. You need an efficient data recovery software for the recovery of your data from it, i will suggest you to go for Kernel for FAT and NTFS hard disk data recovery software for the recovery of your data. It has a user friendly interface and preview your deleted or lost data in scan mode.
