Hard drive Data

I have a dead hard drive and I was wondering if there was a way to retrieve the data from it? Or what programs to use to that end. First, let me state just how dead this is. It will not register in the BIOS, won't show up in windows or any boot disk. FDISK doesn't know its there. The hard disk gets power because it gets hot and I know that power cord is working becuase I used it for the CD-ROM. The IDE cable is good because I put attached another hard drive to it and it works no problem. The disk is dead. So, is there any way to get the data off it? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I'd first try freezing it. Because it gets smaller as it gets colder, there's a chance that some thing that wasn't able to move before can now move. Just remember to put a bag around it when you put it in the freezer, so there isn't any condensation problems.

Thanks for the help. I tried freezing it for about 16 hours but it still didn't work. I am going to try to find a similar hard drive and switch the little circuit board thingy (pretty technical talk) and see what happens. If the platters were stuck (I am assuming that is what the freezing would help) it still should show up in the BIOS shouldn't it? Where's my hammer! :D
