hard drive fails = crash

well, got my build to finally work an when i install my audio drivers my hard drive led will go solid, i can then hear my hard drive slow to a stop, and my computer crashes.

i get a blue screen saying allot of stuff for like 1/2 second

i need help plz

That Blue Screen is called the blue screen of death. Can you still boot up your computer or does it go to that screen and then shut off? The blue screen of death is usually caused by a hardware malfunction.

well it shows it for like 2 seconds, reboots and loads windows.

any idea how i can figurre out the cause of these hardware malfunctions?

k after several crashes i have used windows debugger to figure out that a file called ftdisk.sys is causing these crashes. any ideas?

Can you get the stop error number? It should be viewable in the event viewer.

I don't know if it would cause a crash but you have the onboard audio enabled in the BIOS (and set to Azalia) right?

Have you got automatic restart enabled? The blue screen of deaths should stay until you reset your computer.
