I turned on my computer the other day, and suddenly, Windows Decides that it doesnt want to boot. The computer restarts itself over and over even in Safe mode! I went into the BIOS and loaded from the Windows XP cd and ran the repair mode. The problem still occured. I've tried numerous things, from running that hard drive as a slave drive on another computer, to hooking it up to a USB converter and pluggin the drive into another computer and the drive is not readable! I already have a new harddrive with my programs reinstalled, but i still need a way to recover my old files! I had 10 gigs worth of mp3 not to mention other valuable information. Can anyone help?
Sorry dude, but once a harddrive fails, there's usally not much else you can do...
Check to see if you're partitions are still in order. I kinda doubt it but if you have a failed partition, perhaps there's some way to rebuild it... As it sounds, though, I beleive the drive just simply died...
There is another option if your data is extremely valuable look in the phonebook for a Data recovery company in the computer section. This could be costly, I dont know, also I have seen on the internet companies that you can mail your hardrive to and they try to recover the data. I would not format the hardrive or anything else to it. Do a search on google for data recovery
