My wife's PC has been noisy too much lately. It sounds like the hard drive is constantly backing up data.
I don't have any setup to backup files but that's what it sounds like it's doing. When the noise begins the pc seems to slow down for a second or two but after it runs fine.
Sometimes I can hear hear harddrive thru the wall in a closet just because it seems to back up so much.
It defrags every week on time and there is not any information that were worried about losing.
It does not backup to any online service, it just seems by the noise it almost constantly sounds like it checking, or filing or backing up stuff.
It's running Vista, I know that not the best but it works great for her pc. All the window files are up to date and AVG is the antivirus. It a Pentium 4 running at 3.2 with 1 gig of ram.
Nice machine, but the drive is busy most of the time. It's not a bad drive sound or a failing drive, it's just anoying her more and more and that's anoying me more and more if you know what I mean.
It's a 80g HD. I know I could get a larger HD but she hardly uses 30% leaving most of the drive free.
Any one know what I could check about auto backup to kill the issue?
Thanks
