Hi I recently unpluged 1 of the IDE cables that was attached to one of my hard drives as I needed to attach my friend hard drive to translate data from him.

I have to do this as I all ready have 3 hard drives installed on my PC + a dvd writer

Any way I have just re-attached my hard drive and it isnt showing up in "my computer".

i have gone to device manager and the hard drive is showing up under "disk drives".

any ideas on what I need to do >> ??

Right Click "My Computer" then click on manage. A window will pop up - click on disk management. Right click on the "missing" hard drive and click on change drive letter - assign the drive letter that you want. Once done the HD will now show in "my computer"

It looks like meneertje is playing a game or something. He did this twice already on 2 separate threads.

one partition and unallocated partition.
Does the total of the two partitions capacity equal the HDD capacity?
You have to right click on the drive's partition to get to the options "change drive letter and path."

there is only one unallocated partition which is equal to the size of the hard drive

I hate to say this, but it would seem that the HD partition has somehow become corrupt. You can connect the HD on another computer to confirm this?
If there is no important files then you can just repartition and reformat the drive on DisK Management window, then assign a drive letter to it.
