Alrighty, so in my house we bought 3 Toshiba Satellite A665-S6050 laptop computers. Within all 3 is a Seagate ST9500420ASG 500GB 7200rpm SATA hard drive. The one on my personal one broke down just recently and so I got a an Inland USB to SATA/IDE adapter. I have the hard drive from the broken computer(Let's call it A) hooked up to another one of the A665's (Let's call it B). When I open up the computer management I've turned B's hard drive online and it appears within My Computer on B.
However, both of the drives are C:, except that's not possible, so A turned into Drive E:. I'm trying to recover the information from A but it keeps saying that I have to format the drive in order to use A as well as the parameters are incorrect(to my understanding, this means that A is used to being under C: so now it won't open). There has to be a way to access A without deleting everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
Windows does that sometimes. Although, more often than not, it's a sign of defect hard drive, in which case you will not be able to access anything on it. Sorry. There are companies that specialize in recovering data from broken hard drives but those services are insanely expensive.
