hard drive problem

hey all ;)

I have problem to install windows XP. while coping files from CD it stops work. and displays http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm58/piotrek24usa/IMG_0694.jpg I went on www.seagate.com and downloaded DOS file for my hard drive and there i selected Erase All then it took me 20 minuts.
after that i restart my computer and put cd with windows it coping files and while coping the files it stop (freez) and i have turn the coomputer off.

Maybe i did something wrong. :( i dont know. does somebody know how to fix this problem? how to format hard drive in different way then from WINDOWS CD?

PLEASE HELP ME =]
 
My guess is a bad Cd. Not sure if it could be memory related or not, it it has problems copying files over to the drive then its memory related. I just did a google search on the error and all the hits refer to memory problems. So check your memory, try using only 1 stick in different slots or running memtest on them.
 
Looks like you have a bad CD. The other possibility would be a bad hard drive, but this seems unlikely given the message. Did you have any drive errors previously? Why are you reinstalling XP?
