Hard Drive Problems

For A long time I have Crashes and Problems and I think they come from the Hard Drive.

I get regular Crashes with the Message: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer [......] Technical Information: STOP: 0x000000F4 (0x0000000000000003 , 0xFFFFFFA80085F67E0 , 0xFFFFF800037D5B70)"

Also sometimes I get a error when I push the Ctrl + Alt + Del and the whole computer doesn't work anymore and the only way to fix it is to pull the plug and restart the computer. (Also my taskbar and all objects on the Desktop disappear (I cant tell the error. My computer isn't installed in english)

Also I Add a File from CrystalDisk. Maybe it helps....

Are you actually getting blue screens? If so, then you can do the following so we pin point the issue.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

That sounds more RAM related to me (freezing, hard lock, etc).

Go through what John sent you and we can have a better idea of why it's BSODing. Hard drives can cause a BSOD but it's more rare and would be more easily repeatable than random failing.

Is there a special reason why I had to save the File as BSOD.txt?

No particular reason then to just name the file. I'm gonna need you to zip up the files in the mini dump folder and attach them to your next reply. You'll see where you need to go in the full path section in both of those logs.

Thanks. Will have to wait until I get home to debug the files. I'll be home in a couple hours.

1. Looks like you are running an outdated bios. You have 1.6 and there is a 1.9 out for that board, would suggest updating the bios to version 1.9.
2. On 2 of those bluescreens, I see where it says disk hardware issue. The other one comes up memory corruption.

What I would do is download seatools for dos and run the extended test on your hard drive. You can download hirens boot cd which has it on it and then boot to the cd. I would also download memtest86 to a usb flash drive and run a test on your installed memory. Did anything in particular happen right before this issue started with your pc? Did you have a power outage or anything?

Just FYI ST1000DM003 is a very problematic model of HDD. Not as bad a the 3TB ST3000DM001 was, but we still see a ton of them coming in for recovery with firmware issues and read/write head failures.

Ok..... I tested the memory with memtest86 (I made 4 runs) and no error was showed. I tried to Boot Seatools twice, but I said "No Drives Detected"

As fas as I remember, nothing spacial happend before the issues started....

Seatools for dos won't detect any drives if the sata controller is set to ahci, you must change it to ide/compatibility before running seatools.
