Hello, it's been a long long time since the last time I did this. and it was on a 800 mb drive.. lol
I figure I'll clear off the drive in the dell 5150 (80gig) and start fresh when I load in w7 or w8
can anyone point me to a thread or link that list the order of operations to reformat the drive? or am I better off, clearing the drive another way,,
because all the drivers are different I was advised to do a "clean" install of the os and the updated drivers for that os that I deside to use..
anytime I've had to try anything like this it was just reloading the same os and that was windows 3.1 way back..

During the install process, you will have the option to format the Drive. Not sure what it looks like for Win8. but the Win7 was was extremely simple - just click on the icons that are provided during the process and you're done.

If you have multiple partitions (System Reserved, MBR), simply delete them one by one until you have only one partition left, then either Format it or Create a new one (Windows will automatically reserve 100MB on a separate area that you cannot access).
