Hard Drive "UNKNOWN" Please Help!!

Ok, I'm new on this forum, I'm having a crazy time trying to reformat 4 hard drives I had in my mediasmart server (2 tb drives apiece). Heres the problem. When the server had them and running fine, I'm guessing they were partitioned in some odd format I can't explain, because I'm having difficulty accessing them manually outside the server.

DRIVE MANAGEMENT: Drives show up as UNKNOWN, but do give option to INITIALIZE, but will NOT INITIALIZE!

I installed Wondershare software, created usb boot and even in that software the drive is not found. This is crazy!! The drives are perfectly fine, can anyone recomend an excellent software that can work ?
I have Windows 7 64bit, the drives are all WD green series. I even tried this on windows vista.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do.
If you are trying to access data that is on them already you probably won't be able to if they were in a raid arrangement when they were in the server.

If you just want to format you could use killdisk or Dban to wipe the drives first.

Yes, def wanting to wipe them and format into NTFS drives, that helped, will def search for either of those softwares and report back here. thanks

killdisk doesn't work either, it shows under the management utility window, but gives an error that the MBR needs fixed and offers NO help.
Downloading Boot-Repair software now

Run the DOS v.4.1 version and disconnect all your other drives when running.
I never run a windows version.

It will take awhile to do a drive that size.
