Hard Drives and Gaming

As a regular cosumer it doesn't make sense to buy a 15K drive, not to mention the cost, and 15K drives are usually only SCSI.

There is little to no benefit for very fast HD's, you may say an increase in load time but not in actually performance of games.

With he SCSI drives to you most likely need an adapter and like previously said, they are expensive.

At my work they have 146 Gig SCSI HD's that cost 750.00, Seagate Cheetahs. I wouldn't mind having one, but not for that price.

Hard drives dont effect gaming too much, mainly just during loading times. Most 7200RPM drives work fine, and ones with 16MB of cache are even better.

If you want more performance however, purchase a 10K drive. Buying a 15K SCSI is a waste of money.
