Hard shut down with PSU switch. Stupid, I know, but any problem?

My PC decided not to respond to the point where nothing could be done, so I flicked the I/O switch on the power supply off and back on as I figured it's a couple of seconds faster than holding the button. I regret that now as I got a power surge warning upon powering back up (american megatrends). Everything is fine now or so I can see. Is there any danger now after I have done that? Pretty worried.

Next time use the power button. That at least gracefully removes power from the system.

I have to use the PSU switch to shut off the Beast because when it freezes up it doesn't respond to any of the case buttons. Hasn't created any problems so far...

Yes I have and when my PC freezes up it doesn't respond to that, the reset button being held, the keyboard or anything. My only option to reboot it is the PSU switch or unplugging it and plugging it back in and booting it.

Eh, depends. Sometimes that's all you can do.

Other methods are 'nicer' to the equipment like holding the power button.

I personally prefer to drop my electric components in water. They shut down real quick.

A dap of dawn dish washing liquid will do the finishing touch.

I've heard putting them through the dishwasher works awesome too.
