harddrive dead after cmd commands

so after doing this in CMD
x:
cd/boot
bootsect x:
my external harddrive is dead now my computer still reads it but is asking me to format it i have important informations in it is there anyway to remove the boot files that was created inside without fromating ?

Try to see if you can access the contents of HDD using some external operating systems such as Linux Ubuntu.
