Recently my computer started crashing more and more often until I finally decided to start all over and so I deleted the three disc RAID 5 array and now my SATA discs are not being detected in BIOS.
I don't really care about data loss. Well, not true. I want data loss; I want the discs wiped clean. The computer was mainly used for gaming and the data on it worth saving has already been transferred before deleting the RAID array.
I want to establish a RAID 1 to function as a system disc and buy a couple of new high performance discs for gaming.
How do I make BIOS detect my SATA discs so I can reinstall my OS?
I'm on the laptop at the moment so I can easily download needed drivers if necessary...
The discs that I am trying to detect through BIOS are samsung spinpoint and the motherboard is a gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6
Just wanted to add that I have enabled the SATA controller in the BIOS and when I set it to RAID I am nolonger able to access the RAID configurement screen after the POST. Of course I deleted the previous RAID so that may not be surprising, but I have read on verious tech sites that the solution may involve a correct setting of values in both the BIOS and RAID configurement. No matter what values are selected in the BIOS, it seems, I cannot gain access to the RAID configurement.
The harddrives aren't detected in the BIOS nor the POST.
Any thoughts?
