Harddrive Issue

My friend has an issue I don't seem to know how to resolve.

This is his problem;

OK , something extremely strange happenned to my PC and I have no idea what to do

My whole D: and G: Driveshas dissapeared ...
it can't be broken since my C: drive and my D: n' G: are in the same HardDisk .
The E: and the F: are OK

The icons of the things installed in my 'dissapeared' drives are still in my desktop , but when I try opening them they say :
'the shortcut *** refers to be unavailable'

WTF?!

I'll thank anyone in advance.

does disk management show them as active?
is he using a hide folders/drive program?

Somehow might have the partitions been deleted???What about e and f...are they on that same hard drive??
