Harddrive Partition

Long story short:

I have a C drive and an F drive. F is backup drive. I backed up F drive stuff on external harddrive to format F drive. It was almost done formatting when it said "windows unable to complete format". So I decided to try and delete the partition altogether and recover the C drive as a whole. (I have recovered ONLY the C drive once before, and never used discs. This time it is asking for discs). Anyways, I go to delete the F drive and it says "The Partition F: is currently in use, to force the deletion of this partition click yes. WARNING: Forcing the deletion might cause unexpected errors in the application that is using this partition." I click yes anyways and I get a red "x" that says "The maximum number of secrets that may be stored in a single system has been exceeded". I clicked properties and 0 bytes have been used up. SOOOOOOOOO confused. Please help.

You could always try using a windows install disk to format the drive. If you dont have an install disk you could use something like the ultimate boot disk.
