I am putting together a new computer. I have SATA 2 with 3.0gig on the mainboard. I want to use two sata drives can I install two sata drives and have a master and a slave like you could with IDE? I don't want to have RAID only two seperate drive all together. Is this possible? Thank you for any help.

You dont need to set Master and slave with SATA. It takes the first drive you fit as the master automatically.

You can have as many SATA drives as you have SATA ports for. Keep in mind you may need a driver disk when installing Windows so it sees the drives.

You don't need to set master or slave using SATA, just connect the two drives the the mainboard and select the drive you wish to boot from in the bios. just incase your motherboard does not support 3.0, use the jumbers provided.
