Hardrive Compatible?

hey guyz i want to buy a new hardrive for my computer but i dont know if its compatible? how can i know what hardrive is compatible with my motherboard?

Well what type of computer do you have...EX(dell 8400) Or if you know, what type of motherboard you have. How old is the computer? There are basically.. 2 types of drives sata and ide.

yea there are 2 types of slots. now if u dont knoe wat they look like, then here:

check those out. and if u actually have any taht are empty, then u can just buy a new hd. im pretty sure most should be compatible.

btw, if u only have one slot, then 1 IDE cable can hold up to 2 drives. so yea.

i have ide but i have a custom built computer that i dont know what the heck a lot of parts are...

ok... hahaah i dont think that matters. i mean, if u RELI want to make sure, then just take a picture of ur mobo inside ur computer and post it up. but other than that, yea just get a ide harddrive then.

BTW!!!!!!! check to see if u have anymore slots... LOL!!! dont want to get one and have no room to put it right?
