So I had been having real issues getting my new build to work. I even had a pro come over and take a look at it and all we could assume was that the motherboard or the cpu was dead. The issue was I could not get a signal to the monitor no matter WHAT I did.
- I checked to make sure all wires were plugged in correctly
- I used the monitor on a different build and got signal to make sure it was working
- Tried vga to dvi cable using a converter
- Tried switching the vga cable
- Tried switching to a dvi cable
- I took the video card out and plugged the mointor directly into the monitor
- I tried using a different hard drive
- Made sure the video card was properly pushed into the appropriate PCI Slot
So I came down to two conclusion. Either the motherboard is defective or the cpu is defective. I feel it was more likely than the motherboard than the cpu but i'm going to send them both in today to be replaced.
My second conclusion was perhaps somewhere within the build was some hardware incompatibility. So if anyone is a good at spotting these incompatibilities will you please look over my build to check? Thank you very much!
