Hardware let down?

I am building a pc and would like to know if certain components would let the rest of the machine down.

I am buying this sytem:

Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium
Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor(2.4GHz,8MB Cache,1066MHz)
Aluminium ATX Midi Tower + 550W PSU - Black
PCI-Express Mainboard - SLI nForce 680i SLI - ATX
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Sound Card
OCZ 2GB DDR2 900MHz Memory Sli and dual channel configured -( 2x 1GB Kit)
500GB Serial ATA Hard Drive with 16MB Buffer
LightScribe Super Format 18x Dual Layer DVD Writer +R/-R/RW/RAM
768MB nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
22" Widescreen LCD TFT Digital Display with internal speakers (DVI, 5ms)
5.1 High Definition onboard sound card - 6 Channel Cinema sound
Logitech Cordless Keyboard & Cordless Optical Mouse

However the 768MB nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX comes as either Leadtek or Asus, now having been told EVGA and XFX are good, will the fact its a Leadtek or Asus have a bearing on performance or are these good cards?

Also the 500GB Serial ATA Hard Drive with 16MB Buffer comes as either a Maxtor or Seagate. Are these makes any good and they wont let the rest of the system down?

Finally the central part of any computer. There are lots of motherboards around and I am getting an Asus PCI-Express Mainboard - SLI nForce 680i SLI - Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad-Core - ATX. Now my mistake with my current machine was buying an average motherboard which stopped the other componenets from running at full capacity. Will this motherboard do the job?

looks like a nice build, any specs on that psu? might want to check the amps to be sure it will run a 8800.

Usb ports? are you serious?
 
It has about 32 amps available on the 12v rail if it's the same PSU as the standard Mesh ATX case. Also, it's a HEC unit.

So the motherboard been asus, graphics been asus or eladtek and the power supply been maxtor or seagate will be fine? Dont wana end up with a crap graphics card coz its made by leadtek / asus and not EVGA or XFX?
 
Asus is a fine brand for a graphics card and the only stumbling block I can see for the LeadTek is the awful POST it does. Maxtor and Seagate are the same company so there's very little difference. The power supply is a good unit although if you want to do SLi you can always upgrade it later.
 
What wat does it do at POST?

Also is the Asus PCI-Express Mainboard - SLI nForce 680i SLI motherboard good?

Well on the LeadTek 7300GS we have it decides to count the onboard RAM. The main differences between the 650i and 680i are:

1. The 680i runs both PCI-E lanes at 16x whereas the 650i runs one at 16x and one at 8x. There is no real difference.
2. The audio chip is different
3. The 680i has better overclocking.

These will be enough for the 768MB nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX right? Then if I decide to get a second 768MB nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX then I will buy a new power supply.

Can anyone see any problems with that build? eg the motherboard is slow.

What will this do to my system? eg will it beep? run slower? flash a message on my screen?

That's not the unit mesh provide, I'll get full specs later. Only the POST is slower with a LeadTek card, it shows a screen with it counting away before POSTing.
