Hardware problem

Today my computer would
not boot today. So i went
out to buy a power
supply and that didn't fix
it. The new power supply
would turn on a little bit
then it would die out.
Could it better my
motherboard or cpu that
possibly died out?
 
The specs are just regular
brand name hardware for
the mb, cpu. Amd 64 X2
6000 msi kapmg2 . What i
mean by die out, for it
quick second it look like
the new power supply
would boot up the
computer but it die out on
the spot so its getting
power somehow ya know
 
Take everything out of the case and rebuild it on a table top, see if it runs then. You're describing a short somewhere or a bad motherboard. If it runs on a table top, just rebuild the system but be careful of stray wires and what they are in contact with.
