Also I am getting my media center pc through monarch computers but not the TV Tuner, because I can get them cheaper through new egg and will be buying a the remote off E-BAY and was wondering are these hard to install?

- I am a complete newb and never have installed anything pc wise, could I do this though?
 
hmm now im confuzed i was thinking hauppauge was going to win here... is it just ecause its the 500 MCE and the 250's are better? Anyone care to explain why they like one over the other?
 
i think the only 2 ppl who voted chose evga because they've heard of it before, i have no experience with those tv cards, only one i've used was an ati all-in-wonder.
 
I went to htpcnews.com and read up on the Hauppauge 500 MCE (its just 2 150 MCE) and VisionTek XTASY Theater Pro 550 PVR. They are both pretty close but t seems the VisionTek XTASY Theater Pro 550 PVR has slightly better quality... anyone use this?
